The Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases is a pan-university institute that leads and supports the UNC community to improve global health through research, teaching and service programs.
Academic programs include:
- Co-sponsorship of Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Global Health, a core requirement of the Graduate Certificate in Global Health
- One Health Intellectual Exchange Course about the intersections of human, animal and environmental health, offered through UNC, Duke University and North Carolina State University
Additional programs and services include:
- Workshops and seminars, including Heels in the Field: Global Health Discussion Series; Introduction to Malawi: A Workshop in Chichewa Language and Malawian Culture; and the Triangle African Studies Seminar
- Online training courses including Research, Ethics, Culture, and Institutional Review Board; and Personal Safety for International Travel
