A Celebration of Rumi

Join the Carolina Center for the Study of Middle East and Muslim Civilizations for a celebration of Rumi, a 13th century Persian poet who remains one of the best known and loved poets today. The event will include a presentation by Omid Safi, professor of religious studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, recitations in Persian and English and music by oudist Naji Hilal. Persian refreshments will be served.

This event is also sponsored by the Persian Cultural Society, UNC Persian Studies Program and the Department of Asian Studies.
