Come explore the Pacific Islands with food, dance and discussion. We will be providing dishes and performances from the Philippines, Samoa, Hawaii, Tahiti and New Zealand. Dances will be performed and then taught to participants to showcase the diversity of culture in the Pacific. No experience required! Afterwards, there will be a discussion about Pacific Islander identity and culture while enjoying food.
This event is part of APIAutumn 2017 at UNC-Chapel Hill. It is sponsored by the Carolina Asia Center. Asian/Pacific Islander American Autumn aims to strengthen UNC-Chapel Hill’s pan-APIA community and promote the learning of APIA issues through a united celebration of cultures, heritages and identities.
