Yakshagana

“Yakshagana” is a theater form that combines, dance, music, dialogue, costume, make-up and stage techniques with a unique style and form. This unique art that combines powerful dance moves, colorful make up and a classical framework to convey the great stories of the Indian Epic Poems.
A visiting dance troupe direct from India will perform “Panchavati”, an episode from the Ramayana, with dialogs in Hindi.  See demoness Shoorpanakha disguised as a lovely maiden attempt to seduce Lord Rama and Lakshman, and see her transform into her true horrific form when scorned.

Special discounted student tickets available!
