Facilities Use Policy
The FedEx Global Education Center, opened in 2007, serves as the University’s vibrant hub of international research, teaching, public service and cultural exchange. Housed within the building are many of the units dedicated to global education. Not only does the building offer classroom space, but it also welcomes visitors to enjoy cultural events and other educational opportunities with an international focus. The facility features functional seminar and conference rooms, high tech classrooms, an expansive and welcoming atrium, a large auditorium, elegant outdoor patios and an inviting café.
Event space in the center may only be reserved by University units housed within the building. These rooms are available on a first-come basis. Classrooms (Auditorium, 1005, 1009, 3024, 3033) are occupied weekdays 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. To request a room reservation, contact the FedEx Global Education Center at +1 919-962-2435 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The FedEx Global Education Center and the units within are dedicated to educating University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill constituents, the North Carolina community and visitors from across the globe. It is the goal of the FedEx Global Education Center that the art exhibitions hosted within the building will promote intellectual discussion and a better understanding and appreciation for other cultures.
The center will display and promote work by professional and amateur artists, including students. In order to use art displays as a means for education, the building will incorporate lectures, support materials and other programming in conjunction with exhibits. Artists interested in displaying work in the center should review the Artist Call for Proposals. Please see Art Exhibitions in the FedEx Global Education Center for additional information.
