Anne began her career as a Peace Corps Volunteer working in a barrio in Colón, Panama. She continued her overseas work in Santiago, Chile where she served as a radio correspondent (Stringer) for ABC News before and after the 1973 overthrow of Salvador Allende. Anne went on to a successful healthcare career and retired as Director of Primary Care at Memorial Healthcare, a $3 billion / year public system in Broward County, Florida. Anne was among the founders of the Global Carolina initiative over 20 years ago, and with husband, George, endows a UNC Latin American Speakers fund to support the Chancellor’s Global Leadership Council. Anne is a Leadership America alumnus. She also was the first President of the Broward Women’s Political Caucus. Anne chaired the Broward Children’s Services Board and the State District Children’s Mental Health Committee.

Anne has five children and lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Waynesville, North Carolina.
