David Edelman is a graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work. For the past 15 years he has worked in community mental health in Fairfax County, Virginia. His expertise is in adolescent co-occurring disorders and the convergence of mental health and substance abuse disorders. Edelman has served on the alumni board of the UNC School of Social Work and helped start the school’s Social Justice Fund. The fund gives scholarship money to social work students. His international experience includes teaching English in Japan, studying psychology at University College at the University of London, and extensive travel. Edelman speaks basic French, Spanish, and Japanese.
