Melissa McMurray

Melissa McMurray serves as associate director of global partnerships for the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs and is responsible for coordinating University-wide visits by institutional partners and other international delegations, managing the process for development and execution of international collaboration agreements for the University, and providing support for University partnerships.
She has served on a number of committees and working groups, including the University Contracting Working Group, the Science and Security Planning Team (leading the Visiting Scholar Working Group), and the National Security Working Group. Before her current appointment in 2012, she served as the special assistant for UNC Global since 2004, supporting the directors of development and global relations. Prior to joining UNC-Chapel Hill, she worked with international students at Georgetown University in the English as a Foreign Language Program to coordinate activities, events, student services, and publications. She earned her master’s degree in international studies from the University of South Carolina and her bachelor’s degree in international relations and Spanish from the University of Richmond, which included a study abroad experience in Spain.
