Rawan Abbasi provides communications support by writing and editing website content, managing social media, designing promotional materials, and compiling administrative research reports. Prior to her role as communications manager, Abbasi worked as an administrative support associate in the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs and a communications intern from 2018-2020. As an intern, Abbasi was managing editor and contributor for the 2020 edition of Carolina Passport, a former student-led magazine managed by the former Global Relations team. She also assisted in the planning and execution of multiple art exhibitions at the FedEx Global Education Center. 

Abbasi received her bachelor’s in public policy from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2020. Originally from Charlotte, NC, Abbasi grew up in a mixed Arab and South Asian household and has traveled to the Middle East throughout her childhood.
