The American Mock World Health Organization (AMWHO) is a student-run organization whose goal is to introduce prospective global public health students and professionals into the organization and setup of the World Health Organization. AMWHO was founded at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is continuing to grow each year to other universities. Each year the organization hosts a weekend-long conference where students are invited to debate health policy, engage with other students and meet other professionals involved in the field of global public health.
This year the AMWHO regional conference will be held during the weekend of September 9-11 at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC. Students from all over the state of North Carolina are invited to attend the conference. Registration for the conference is $50.
