Bak'tun: New Maya Perspectives in 2012

In this talk, Cristina Coc will discuss the recent successes and ongoing struggles of the Maya in securing rights to ancestral lands in the Central American nation of Belize.

Coc (Maya Q’eqchi, Belize) is the executive director of the Julian Cho Society, which promotes social justice, human rights and sustainable development in Belize.

This lecture is hosted in conjunction with the “13 Bak’tun: New Maya Perspectives in 2012” symposium.
