The Carolina community welcomes Frederick W. Smith, founder and executive chairman of FedEx Corporation, for a special lecture celebrating the 15th anniversary of the opening of the FedEx Global Education Center. Smith will be joined by Barbara Stephenson, vice provost for global affairs and former U.S. ambassador.
In his lecture, Smith will make the case for re-engaging on free trade agreements, offering his insights into supporting sustainable global trade and managing threats to open global order.
Opened in 2007, the FedEx Global Education Center was funded in large part by a generous gift from the FedEx Corporation. Under Smith’s leadership, FedEx has become a $93.5 billion global enterprise that serves more than 220 countries and territories.
