GSDI Michael Sherraden Lecture Series: Arun Sundararaja, ‘The Sharing Economy’

The GSDI Michael Sherraden Lecture Series welcomes professor Arun Sundararaja to campus for a reception and book signing followed by a lecture on the sharing economy, the fourth industrial revolution, and the global future of work. In his talk, Sundararajan will explain the basics of crowd-based capitalism and highlight the important policy choices and possible new directions for self-regulatory organizations, labor law, and funding our social safety net.

Arun Sundararajan, the Harold Price professor of entrepreneurship and professor of technology, operations and statistics at New York University’s (NYU) Stern School of Business, and member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on the New Economic Agenda, will deliver the 2020 Michael Sherraden Lecture. His research studies how digital technologies transform business, government and civil society, with a recent focus on platform and AI-driven business models, corporate venture capital, digital governance, digital migration and the future of work. Professor Sundararajan is the author of the best-selling book, “The Sharing Economy,” which has been translated into Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Portuguese. His scholarship has been recognized by numerous Best Paper awards, two Google Faculty awards, an Axiom Best Business Books Award and a Thinkers50 Radar Thinker Award.
