Introductory Workshop on Chichewa Language and Malawi Culture

This two-part workshop will provide a brief overview of the social, cultural, and political context of Malawi with an emphasis on cultural sensitivity in health services for UNC students, staff, and faculty planning research, service, or internships in Malawi. Sessions will be held on April 23, 2022 and April 30, 2022, from 10 AM – 12 PM. Attendance at both sessions is strongly recommended. Space is limited – Kindly register to attend.

Priority will be given to UNC students with planned research, service, or learning programs in Malawi and researchers working in Chewa-speaking countries (Malawi, Zambia, etc.) This workshop is sponsored by the UNC African Studies Center and the UNC Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases.
