Japanese Film Screening: Mentai Piriri

March 8, 2022 at 7:00 PM

Come join a free screening, hosted by the students of JAPN 418, of the Japanese film Mentai Piriri.

Based on a true story, this movie is set in the 1950s (post-war period) and follows Toshiyuki and his wife, Chiyoko, who run a small grocery store in Fukuoka City. Toshiyuki believes that his mentaiko (fish roe usually served salted and spiced with red pepper) could bring happiness to the people around him. Follow a story about how a man used mentaiko to connect people, while also facing many failures and hardships along the way.

This event is free, but it will be capped once the maximum capacity is reached. Register to join using this link.

Masks are required in the building at all times. No food or drinks permitted. Doors will open at 6:30pm for a prompt start at 7pm.

This event is a partnership with the Consulate-General of Japan in Atlanta to support this screening.
