Jovan Baclious and Austin Blair, ‘Millennial Jihad’

Do you like video games? Have you ever played Call of Duty (CoD)? Then you have something in common with tens of thousands of young men terrorist groups have tried to recruit. Two seniors in the Department of Peace, Ware and Defense at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jovan Baclious and Austin Blair, have spent the last several months working with communication professors Cori Dauber and Mark Robinson to carefully study the way Islamic State copies CoD in their propaganda videos – and the way other groups then copy the Islamic State in theirs.
