Presentation and Discussion, ‘Ilhan Omar, AIPAC and Zionism’

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s organization One Voice will host a discussion regarding the recent controversy surrounding U.S. representative Ilhan Omar’s American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) tweets and the broader national and international framework in which they fit. The presentation will interrogate the relationship between AIPAC and American politics, anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism, and the language of public figures regarding Israel in the U.S. No prior knowledge of the topic is necessary and all are welcome to attend and engage in a discussion session after the presentation. Coffee, pastries and fruit will be provided.
