Rudolf Scharping is the former German Secretary of Defense, candidate for Chancellor, SPD chairman and Prime Minister of Rhineland Palatinate. He now is CEO of the RSBK consultancy company which focuses on public-private partnership matters and strategy and business development issues in China and Germany. He is the president of the Federation of German Cyclists and was a visiting professor at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. As Minister of Defense, he was particularly instrumental for Germany’s engagement in the war in Kosovo in the former Yugoslavia.
