February 12, 2020 at 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Adom Getachew (Political Science, University of Chicago) will discuss her award-winning book, Worldmaking after Empire: The Rise and Fall of Self-Determination. Cemil Aydin, Professor of History; Emily Burrill, Associate Professor of History and Women’s and Gender Studies, and Director of the African Studies Center; Susan Penneybacker, Professor of European History; and Mark Reeves, doctoral candidate in the department of history will contribute to the discussion. This talk is part of the Scholars in Conversation series sponsored by the Carolina Seminar in African Ecology and Social Processes and is open to all area faculty and graduate students in any discipline. Light refreshments will be served.
