With support from Humanities for the Public Good; UNC Global; the Im/migration, Illegality and Citizenship in the Americas Working Group; and co-sponsored by the Muslim Students Association and the Islamicate Graduate Student Association, UndocuCarolina invites guests to the second Community Roundtable of the year, “The Muslim Ban and Us.” Featuring University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill faculty, students and local civil society activists, the event will take place on Thursday, November 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the FedEx Global Education Center 1005.

Following the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Trump administration’s Muslim Ban in a 5-4 decision, roundtable participants will discuss the changing landscape of immigration policy, the role that racism and criminalization play in these policy changes and the effects of bans on movement on transnational families and immigrant and refugee communities.

All are welcome! Refreshments will be served.
