Senator James Sasser will speak on the state of domestic and global affairs on March 19, 2014 from 6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. in room 039 at Graham Memorial at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Susan King, dean of the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication and John Thomas Kerr Distinguished Professor, will facilitate a conversation.
James Sasser has spent more than a quarter-century in public life as a U.S. Senator from Tennessee, as U.S. Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China and as a leading commentator on Sino-U.S. relations and the inner workings of the U.S. Senate. He currently provides strategic advice to leading American and Chinese companies, including FedEx and APCO Worldwide. Senator Sasser is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, vice-chairman of the Committee on US-China Relations and vice-chairman of the US-China Foundation. He is currently serving as the Morehead-Cain Alumni Visiting Distinguished Professor and Visiting Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Global Research Institute.
