Film: ‘Truth Underground’ (US, 2016)

Three spoken word poets struggle through poverty, discrimination, PTSD and abandonment to prove the power of the word in this documentary film from North Carolina. This film screening is part of the Southern Culture Movie Series for international scholars and students, sponsored by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Summer School and organized by the Writing Center, International Student and Scholar Services and the Media Resources Center.

All screenings begin at 6:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
