Peter Lorge teaches Chinese and military history at Vanderbilt University.  He specializes in 10th and 11th century Chinese military history and thought, and is the author, most recently, of “Chinese Martial Arts: From Antiquity to the Twenty-First Century,” and editor of “The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms.”

In addition, Lorge will provide a guest lecture on Feb. 26 on the invention and use of gunpowder in medieval China, entitled “Finding Gunpowder and Losing A Revolution.”  There is an additional lecture for the class of HIST 351, in Hamilton Hall, Room 100 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.  There is plenty of additional seating, and guests are welcome.
