Virtual: ‘Improving Quality of Care in Humanitarian Healthcare: Experiences from Doctors Without Borders’
February 4, 2021 at 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Save the date for a lecture with Anna Freeman, a Gillings Master of Public Health (MPH) alumna in maternal and child health. On February 4, at 12:00 p.m., Freeman will discuss her experiences as a nurse and quality improvement specialist with Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders.
Freeman began working in humanitarian aid in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2008, and has since worked in nine other countries, including Haiti, Iraqi Kurdistan, Guinea, and South Sudan. A champion of equal access to health care, her field work has focused on refugee health, outbreak response, and quality improvement, particularly in crisis settings. Prior to working in humanitarian aid, Freeman was a pediatric intensive care nurse.
This is the second webinar of the Gillings Humanitarian Health Initiative – Seminar Series and is organized by the Office of Research, innovation and Global Solutions. Register online.
