Virtual: Los Valientes Performed by Core Ensemble

The Institute for the Study of the Americas (ISA) welcomes Core Ensemble back to UNC-Chapel Hill with a streaming performance of Los Valientes. This chamber music theatre production for solo actor and trio (cello, piano, and percussion) explore the lives of three Latin American figures: Diego Rivera, Archbishop Oscar Romero and Joaquín Murrieta aka “Zorro”. Los Valientes is written by José Cruz González. The music for Los Valientes features songs and concert/vernacular music by a wide range of Latin American composers including Astor Piazzolla and Osvaldo Golijov.

The performance is available for viewing from Jan. 24 to 31.

There will be a special showing with an accompanying conversation with the artistic director/percussionist, Michael Parola, and actor, David Pérez-Ribada on Thurs., Jan. 28 at 6:00 p.m.
