Virtual: ‘On Arbeitsfreude (Joy in Work): The Worker in Nazi-Era Industrial Photography’

April 9, 2021 at 1:15 PM - 2:30 PM

Join the Carolina Duke Graduate Program as we welcome Professor Sabine Hake to give two inaugural workshops in the (DIS) UNITY workshop series given on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of German unification. Over the course of the next year and a half, this series will bring three different speakers to the Triangle, either virtually or in person, to give an academic talk related to the themes of unity and disunity in the German Studies context, as well as a professionalization workshop for graduate students.

On April 9 from 1:15 p.m., Hake will give a Zoom seminar based on her most recent research entitled “On Arbeitsfreude (Joy in Work): The Worker in Nazi-Era Industrial Photography.” That following Monday, on April 12 at 7:00 p.m., Hake will give a professionalization workshop for graduate students about submitting articles for publication, drawing on her experience as editor of the German Studies Review.

To sign up, please write disunityworkshopseries@gmail.com. We look forward to welcoming Hake and hope you can join!
