Russian Flagship Program
The U.S. government designates Russian as one of the languages vital for national security and economic competitiveness. The Russian Language Flagship Program is a national initiative created to answer that critical need. The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Russian Flagship Program (UNCRFP) is a federally funded initiative that supports motivated undergraduate students of all majors to attain a professional level of proficiency in the Russian language. The Russian Flagship Program at UNC-Chapel Hill is a joint collaboration between the Department of Germanic & Slavic Languages & Literatures and the Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies, and is one of eight Russian Language Flagship programs in the US sponsored by the National Security Education Program (NSEP).
