2018-2019 Carolina Global Photography Competition | DEADLINE EXTENDED
The 19th annual Carolina Global Photography Competition is now accepting submissions. This amateur competition, which is open to students, faculty, alumni and staff of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, showcases Carolina’s global activity, educational opportunities, research and service work. The competition closes September 20, 2018. Each photographer may submit up to three photos. Exhibition: ‘Reminders of Home: Persian Art Connecting Homeland and Diaspora’
Reminders of Home: Persian Art Connecting Homeland and Diaspora features select Persian artwork and artifacts that provide a glimpse into a culture that has cultivated an extensive legacy of art over the past 5,000 years. Many art forms have flourished through the millennia, including architecture, calligraphy, miniature painting, weaving, pottery, metalworking and sculpture. International Coffee Hour
Join the Center for Global Initiatives for a monthly social hour at the EspressOasis Cafe in the FedEx Global Education Center to meet international students, staff and faculty and learn about great global and community resources. This free event happens throughout the academic year and is open to the wider University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill community, friends and family. This event is co-hosted with the Study Abroad Office.
