As you continue your global teaching, research, and partnership activities at Carolina, we hope you will think of our office as a resource and partner. Below are some of the ways the OVPGA can support your global engagement:

  • Global Partnership Awards | These awards support Carolina faculty interested in exploring or expanding collaboration with an international partner. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with two annual priority deadlines in March and October.Awards: $2,000-8,000
  • Curriculum Development Awards for COIL | These awards provide faculty with curriculum development assistance and funding to integrate Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) activities into new or established UNC-Chapel Hill courses.Awards: $2500, plus $1500 for graduate assistant stipend
  • Diplomacy Initiative Faculty Roundtable | The Diplomacy Initiative prepares Carolina students to become the next generation of leaders by giving them direct access to foreign affairs practitioners and helping them develop and apply the skills of diplomacy to any career path. Members of the Faculty Roundtable represent a range of disciplines and play an instrumental role in the design and implementation of the Diplomacy Initiative.
  • Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program | The application cycle is currently open for this prestigious award, funded by the U.S. Department of State. Fulbright Scholars teach, research, and conduct professional projects in more than 130 countries. The Fulbright Faculty Liaison in the Center for Faculty Excellence can offer information and guidance on applications.
