February 26, 2018
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is ranked fourth among large schools on the Peace Corps’ Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities list, up three spots from last year.
According to the Peace Corps, 70 Tar Heels are currently volunteering around the world. To date, 1,338 Carolina alumni have served in the program.
“UNC-Chapel Hill graduates who volunteer with Peace Corps showcase their zeal for public service by engaging with communities around the world to address challenging issues,” said Ron Strauss, executive vice provost and chief international officer. “Their hard work positively influences the communities in which they serve and the communities to which they return, linking the local and global in a powerful way.”
This is the 10th year UNC-Chapel Hill has ranked in the top 25 schools since 2008.
