Carolina Nursing Professors Help Build Japan's First Doctor of Nursing Program

August 10, 2018

Professor SeonAe Yeo and Assistant Professor Mark Toles traveled to Tokyo, Japan last month to work with St. Luke’s International University to help further develop the nation’s first doctor of nursing practice (DNP) program.

Together, Drs. Yeo and Toles taught courses, held faculty development seminars, attended DNP faculty working group meetings and consulted with individual faculty members and students throughout the course of their two weeks there.

With the collaboration of Carolina Nursing, St. Luke’s plans to secure federal funding to brand itself the leader in implementation science in nursing in Japan through more explicit collaborative research projects, education programs and services globally.

In the future the two Universities seek to establish student exchange opportunities at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
