Massimiliano Di Giosia was recently jointly appointed as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Endodontics and the Center for Pain Research and Innovation.

“I’m very excited to join UNC and to work in a multidisciplinary environment with a lot of possibilities for clinical activities and research,” Di Giosia said. “I hope that my training in orofacial pain, orthodontics and dental sleep medicine will be a resource for the school and for the patients.”

In his new role, Di Giosia is responsible for clinical activity in orofacial pain, Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) and dental sleep medicine. He’ll also focus on clinical research as well as teaching and supervising the residents of the school’s new orofacial pain residency program.
