The UNC School of Nursing ranks 6th among nursing schools the world over and third among US schools of nursing according to ShanghaiRanking’s Academic Ranking of Academic Subjects 2018 report. The new rankings demonstrate a four-point rise from 2017 when the School ranked 10th overall.

Considered the most influential international ranking by the Chronicle of Higher Education, the annual AWRU report ranks universities and schools based on transparent methodology and third-party data, using six objective indicators including faculty awards and distinctions, and the number and impact of scientific publications.

“While our institutional focus is rightly trained on advancing health care for all, we are delighted by this recognition of the impact and quality of the work our faculty, staff and students do each day,” said Nena Peragallo-Montano, dean of the UNC School of Nursing. “It is a privilege we take very seriously to work to improve the lives of our state’s citizens, and rankings like this one demonstrate our commitment to doing that at the highest possible level.”
