Assistant Professor Andrea Mulholland  and Assistant Professor Yamnia Cortés traveled to Manta, Ecuador, on August 19 through 24 to teach a course to 41 nurses at the Urgent Care: Cuidados de Emergencia continuing education conference.

The three-day conference was supported by colleagues at the University San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), and the General Public Health System (Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social).

The course taught by Mulholland and Cortés reviewed nursing care for common conditions in patients presenting to emergency departments and included quizzes, group work and simulation. This program is an effort to expand the School of Nursing’s collaboration with our partners in Ecuador and promote professional nursing practice in Ecuador.
