Passport Drive

Usually, UNC Global hosts a Passport Drive attended by hundreds of Carolina community members. During the event, officials from the U.S. Department of State are on campus to accept new and renewal passport applications and to answer questions from Carolina students, faculty, staff and their families.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, however, UNC Global is unable to schedule the next passport drive. This page will be updated if conditions change and an event is scheduled.

Individuals who need to apply for or renew a passport can visit the U.S. Department of State’s website to find information about passport requirements, fees and procedures, as well as application forms.

Consistent with UNC System guidance, Carolina is prohibiting University-affiliated travel outside the United States. If you must travel for University-affiliated purposes, you will need to request an exception to current University travel restrictions.

Passport to Go

The Passport to Go program, a UNC Global program that provides funding and programming for first-year students to obtain their first passport and learn about global opportunities at Carolina, is currently on hold due to ongoing constraints on passport processing through the U.S. Department of State. As any updates to this status evolve, they will be posted here and announced through UNC Global.
