The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Alumni Class of 1938 annually awards summer study abroad fellowships to U.S. students interested in pursuing independent career or personal projects outside the United States. This is a unique scholarship program because it provides financial assistance to students who could not perform independent projects abroad without the support of the Class of 1938 funding. Manuela De Leonardis discusses¬†The Blood of Women. Traces of Red on White Cloth, a traveling exhibition and book (supported by the Pasquale Battista Foundation) which brings together the work of 68 international artists. The exhibition explores transnational feminisms presenting work about the taboo of menstruation. Njathi Kabui is an internationally celebrated organic chef, urban farmer and food activist.
