FEDEX GLOBAL EDUCATION CENTER Print Email

The FedEx Global Education Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is unique among American colleges and universities in bringing together the three major components of international education: student and faculty services, academic instruction, and programs and research. Each of these functions is individually represented in the building, and they are bound together by a common gathering space to create global synergy and opportunities for interaction. This space is designed for intellectual and personal encounters to enrich mutual understanding and advance our knowledge of the world.

Funded in large part by a generous gift from the FedEx Corporation, the Center is the primary means for engaging the Carolina community in international issues. The building encourages visitors to explore the differences among cultures, peoples and societies and how they are being challenged, integrated and transformed through globalization.

To better serve the state of North Carolina, the University is committed to becoming a premiere global institution. The Global Education Center provides a tangible demonstration of that commitment and offers to future generations of students, as well as alumni, faculty, staff, North Carolina citizens and international guests, a departure point for journeys of discovery.
