Katie Costanza

Katie Costanza supports the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs (OVPGA) with strategic planning, assessment, reporting and new initiatives. She also leads executive communication for the vice provost for global affairs. Prior to her role with the OVPGA, Costanza managed data, communications, evaluation and several student awards at Carolina’s Center for Global Initiatives (CGI). In her time at CGI, she worked to increase the center’s reach to students often underrepresented in global programming.
Costanza is a North Carolina native with degrees in journalism and mass communication, romance languages, and a masters in public administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. After her undergraduate studies, Costanza worked with K-5 language immersion programs. She then worked as a refugee resettlement case specialist in Durham serving primarily Bhutanese, Somali, Congolese, Burmese, Sudanese and Iraqi families as they transitioned to life in the United States. Prior to returning to Carolina, Costanza was the director of foundation relations with an education non-profit in Raleigh, helping administrators and teachers support and empower students in rural schools.
