Katie Costanza

Katie Costanza supports digital communication, design and program evaluation as part of the Global Relations team, and she serves as the speechwriter for the vice provost for global affairs. Prior to her role with Global Relations, Costanza managed data, communications, evaluation and several student awards at UNC’s Center for Global Initiatives (CGI). In her time at CGI, she worked to increase the center’s reach to students often underrepresented in global. Costanza is a North Carolina native with degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication, Romance Languages and a Masters in Public Administration from Carolina. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a summer abroad in Buenos Aires, worked on several campus publications and volunteered in the local community with Burmese refugees. After graduating, Katie supported international teachers through a K-5 language immersion program. She then worked as a refugee resettlement case specialist in Durham serving primarily Bhutanese, Somali, Congolese, Burmese, Sudanese and Iraqi families as they transitioned to life in the United States. Prior to returning to Carolina, Costanza worked as the director of foundation relations with an education non-profit in Raleigh, helping administrators and teachers support and empower students in rural schools.
