Africa Across the Disciplines: New Research at Carolina Graduate Student Symposium

The African Studies Center brings together Africanist students, faculty, and staff from across the university, and it reaches out to the wider public to share research and information about Africa. This year, the Center is starting a new tradition, activating our representation of the whole University by bringing together graduate students who study Africa from an array of disciplinary perspectives, whether as Africanist specialists or as non-Africanists whose research includes attention to Africa.

The Center has solicited proposals from graduate and professional students across the university.

This will be no ordinary graduate student symposium! The broad disciplinary reach provides an opportunity to design presentations for diverse, knowledgeable audiences—perfect practice for the job market.
