Being a Young Leader in Climate Negotiation & Advocacy: A Talk with Juan Carlos Monterrey Gómez

Join the Carolina International Relations Association, the Information and Library Science Student Association, and the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs for a global discussion with Juan Carlos Monterrey Gómez on climate negotiation and advocacy.

Mr. Monterrey is the former lead climate negotiator for Panama, the Executive Director of Geoversity, and the former SBI Vice Chair at UN Climate Change. He has also led the youngest delegation at UN Climate Negotiations and oversees a 12,800 acre rainforest corridor. He will speak to his experiences as a young leader in climate negotiation, environmental justice, and conservation.

This event will be held at the FedEx Global Education Center in the Nelson Mandela auditorium on Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. Open to all students!
