Dr. William Brustein, Vice Provost for Global Affairs Candidate Open Forum

January 14, 2019 at 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

The Vice Provost for Global Affairs search committee is pleased to announce details for the open forums with the final candidates. These forums are designed to give the campus community an opportunity to hear from candidates about their experience and their ideas for enhancing UNC-Chapel Hill, and an opportunity for you to provide feedback.

Topic of the forum:

As you pursued your international career in the 1990s and 2000s, what were the most distinctive aspirations and challenges of those times that guided or influenced your work? How do you see today and our current global issues in relation to then? What does UNC-Chapel Hill, a leading global public research university, need to do in this moment to develop a global mindset that will advance its academic and research mission, prepare new generations of students, and best serve the citizens of North Carolina?

Dr. Brustein is the Vice President for Global Strategies and International Affairs at West Virginia University. He previously held a similar position with The Ohio State University.  His academic career in Political Science, History, and Sociology has included academic and administrative positions at the University of Minnesota, Stanford, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
