Film Screening: ‘Letter From Masanjia’ (2018)

Letter from Masanjia, an award-willing documentary which recently qualified for the 2019 Oscars, tells the story of how a desperate S.O.S. note from a Chinese prisoner is found by a mother in Oregon in her Halloween decorations, and the incredible events that ensued that lead to the shutdown of a secret labor camp in China.

The film premiered at Hot Docs 2018, placing in the top 20 Audience Favorites, and has screened in theaters across North America. Letter from Masanjia has been featured in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, BBC Radio, among many others.
