Movie Screening: 20 Days in Mariupol

February 29 at 5:30 PM

The Center for Slavic Eurasian and East European Studies (CSEEES) and UNC Global Affairs are hosting a screening of the documentary “20 Days in Mariupol” – a poignant Ukrainian documentary directed by Mstyslav Chernov, chronicling the harrowing first twenty days in the besieged city of Mariupol following the onset of Russia’s intensified military aggression towards Ukraine. The film, produced by the AP and PBS Frontline, presents an unflinching look at the human cost of the conflict, and provides an excellent firsthand account of what it is like to be a journalist and videographer in conflict zones. The documentary was nominated for an Oscar and has received multiple other awards.

After the screening, there will be a Q and A session with one of the documentary producers.
