Nixon and Kissinger’s Opening to China: A Good or Bad Idea with Hindsight

The Krasno Lecture Series will host a Diplomatic Discussion with Winston Lord in conversation with Klaus Larres, Richard M. Krasno Distinguished Professor in the history department. Lord previously served as U.S. Ambassador to China (1985-89), assistant secretary of state (1994-97) and special assistant to former National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger (1970-1973).

The Diplomatic Discussions series through UNC-Chapel Hill’s Diplomacy Initiative brings top foreign affairs practitioners from the U.S. and around the world to Carolina to give public talks and classroom discussions on current global issues.

The event will take place Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 5.30 p.m. on Zoom.
