Prospects for Peace: The Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process

September 13, 2022 at 7:30 PM - 8:45 PM

The Biden administration has moved on from the tempting prospect of negotiating a comprehensive Israeli-Palestinian peace deal. But elections in Israel, potential leadership succession for the Palestinian Authority, and the Abraham Accords regional peace agreements all have implications for the conflict going forward. Join Ambassador Dennis Ross in a conversation with former Palestinian negotiator Ghaith al-Omari about the current state of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

This event is a Diplomatic Discussion hosted by UNC Hillel and co-sponsored by Carolina Center for Jewish Studies, the Curriculum in Peace, War, and Defense, the Curriculum in Global Studies and Center for Middle East and Islamic Studies.

Diplomatic Discussions is a series of in-person and virtual visits offered as part of the Diplomacy Initiative led by the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs. Through this series, students gain inside perspectives from top international relations practitioners on current issues in diplomacy and international affairs through public lectures and panel discussions.
