Virtual: Screening and Discussion of ‘Chris the Swiss’ (2018)

March 25, 2021 at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join the Department of Germanic and Slave Languages and Literature’s Kino Club and the UNC Forum on Southeast Europe for a virtual screening and discussion of Chris the Swiss (2018) on March 25 at 6:30 p.m. The film will be introduced by Aleksandra Prica, an assistant professor of German Literature at UNC-Chapel Hill.

In the midst of the Yugoslav Wars, Chris, a young Swiss journalist is found dead in mysterious circumstances. He was wearing the uniform of an international mercenary group. Why he took up arms has long puzzled his cousin and filmmaker Anja Kofmel. In this visually impressive docu-thriller, she looks at what draws young men to war and the devastating effects it can have on their lives.
