The UNC Global family shares the FedEx Global Education Center and is led by Barbara Stephenson, vice provost for global affairs and chief global officer. Stephenson works in close collaboration with Noreen McDonald, senior associate dean for social sciences and global programs in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs
Comprised of units reporting directly to Vice Provost Barbara Stephenson, the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs (OVPGA) has primary responsibility for shaping and implementing the University’s global strategy while supporting global activity across campus. The OVPGA staff support the following functions: global development, global education, global partnerships, global travel, and strategy, impact and communications.

Rotary Peace Fellows are leaders promoting national and international cooperation, peace, and the successful resolution of conflict throughout their lives, in their careers, and through service activities.
The Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center is jointly managed by the Duke Center for International Development and the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs.

College of Arts and Sciences
Noreen McDonald oversees UNC Global units that are a part of the College of Arts and Sciences. These units include six area studies centers that receive funding by the U.S. Department of Education in addition to the Curriculum in Global Studies and the Study Abroad Office.

With over 30 core faculty members, the Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies is home to the REEES Concentration in Global Studies master’s program and serves as the hub on campus for graduate and undergraduate students interested in Russia, East Europe and Eurasia.
