Indigenous language revitalization has taken an urgent and creative turn globally. The new practices that aim to strengthen the use of native languages have important lessons for Indigenous politics, identity, and global activism. Professor Tuaza Castro and Professor Frey will discuss the experiences of Quichua language learning in Andean Ecuador and Cherokee language among the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. A panel discussion will invite the audience into a conversation about indigenous futures and the global connections in native experience.…
