Global Volunteer Network2012 International Internships. Applications Due May 7.![]() The GVN Foundation is currently recruiting International Interns for 2012. The role of our International Interns is to represent the GVN Foundation and raise awareness of our Eat So They Can campaign in their region. Our International Interns are connected with a specific GVN Foundation project and are given the opportunity to visit that project, if they reach certain fundraising targets. The GVN Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization in the United States and has Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Our Eat So They Can campaign raises funds to improve the nutrition of children in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Internships are unpaid but offer a great opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children, as well as learn valuable skills and knowledge from the GVN team. | Ghana Health and Education Initiative Internship Humjibre, Western Region, Ghana Organization Ghana Health and Education Initiative (GHEI) http://www.ghei.org/ Description GHEI is a small non-profit in the Western region of Ghana in the small farming community of Humjibre. Our mission is to promote education and improve health through principles of sustainable development and community empowerment. GHEI Serve and Learn consists of four programs that are led by a group of volunteers each summer in Humjibre, a small farming villiage in Western Ghana. Through these programs, volunteers carry out GHEI's mission, empowering communities to address the challenges of rural development. It is the perfect opportunity for those interested in international development, public health and education to gain valuable professional and grassroots experience. Movement121 The world is in desperate need of world-changers that know how world change actually happens, and do work (professional and volunteer) that actually lasts. Not just “feel good” work, but “real good.” To invest further in this wave of emerging world-changers, MOVEMENT121 has launched the M121 FELLOWSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE WORLD CHANGE. 121 people between the ages of 18 and 35 will be selected to become fellows of the program. Fellows will discover and utilize their unique personal strengths, learn about sustainable ways to change the world, participate in the building of a new social business, champion the cause of eradicating poverty in a sustainable way, and be the first to receive and test out new CAUSEWEAR™ or CAUSEGEAR™. Fellows will benefit from being a part of a unique community of like-minded world-changers, having their ideas tested, their minds sharpened, and their vision broadened. Community Water Solutions Fellowship Program http://www.communitywatersolutions.org/fellowship.html The CWS Fellowship Program is a three-week water education and leadership training experience in Northern Region Ghana. The purpose of the fellowship is to teach individuals about the global water crisis, and inspire them to become leaders in the field of international development. Fellows are grouped in teams of four and paired with a rural community in Northern Region Ghana. Each team works together to raise the fellowship fee before traveling to Africa. On the ground, teams are first trained in water quality testing, and the CWS water treatment methods. They then spend two weeks in the field implementing and monitoring a CWS water business in their village. Next year, CWS is hosting two Fellowship Sessions. The first session will take place this winter from December 27th - January 17th. The second session will take place this summer from June 5th - 26th. ***Due do an overwhelming amount of intererest, CWS has decided to host a 3rd Fellowship Program Session in 2012, from April 2nd - 23rd.
