RUSSIAN FLAGSHIP PROGRAM
The U.S. government designates Russian as one of the languages vital for national security and economic competitiveness. The Russian Language Flagship Program is a national initiative created to answer that critical need. The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Russian Flagship Program (UNCRFP) is a federally funded initiative that supports motivated undergraduate students of all majors to attain a professional level of proficiency in the Russian language. The Russian Flagship Program at UNC-Chapel Hill is a joint collaboration between the Department of Germanic & Slavic Languages & Literatures and the Center for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies, and is one of eight Russian Language Flagship programs in the U.S.-sponsored by the National Security Education Program (NSEP).
